Lost / missing child procedure If I lose a child, I will.... panic ;D NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I will - make sure the other children in my care are safe Raise the alarm If I become seriously concerned I will - Ring the police Ring parents Ring child's emergency contacts if parents are not available Then panic! lol made me laugh sarah,
im going to put some sort of strategy into place, like if we are going somewhere crowded, such as a wristband or tag attached on their coat or something with my details on it and saying that he/she is a minded child and if lost please call the number. hope i make sense, lol.
does anyone else do something similar or am i being over cautious

Hah- my policy is
If they are Lost - leave 'em lost (most of them are like Lassie and will come home eventually) lol
Ok seriously my policy is
conduct a brief search of the immediate area calling the childs name (ensuring safety and reassurance of other children in my care)
if out and about inform shop/security staff if at home/near vicinity to home the search area will be widen and if possible familiar routes to the children will be searched
If the child cannot be found within 10 minutes of the inital alarm then the police will be contacted
followed by contacting the parents
Resume breathing and have a stiff drink

All I put on a wristtag is CHILDMINDED CHILD with childs initials and my mobile number.

there was a thread a while ago about where to get these from so have a scout round the forum
Ikea do some safety gear but don't know if it includes wristbands
I got mine from NCMA - they were free with who minds a while ago but I think you can still buy them

I wanna go toooooo please! I've got a new baby (5 months) who screams and screams and screams and screams.....if ever a baby needed a dummy it's this one! Only time he's quiet is with a bottle shoved in his mouth - even then he fights it so he can scream... he screams between mouthfulls of food as well! Reading books to 2 under 3s and a 5 year old with a baby screaming is not fun! Am applying for a sainthood for patience! ;D Sarahx
