i explain to parents that normally only the hours on their contract are available to them in the holidays - if they are booked for 2 afternoons a week then thats all they are entitled to in the holidays. I am happy to be asked about extended hours as long as the parent accepts I may decline such requests!
This year I gave everybody a booking form for the summer holidays, with their contracted hours printed out and n/a against any day I am closed or don't have a space for their age-group. So they could write in any blank spaces they wanted to book and cross out any contracted days they would not need (but would still have to pay for unless I can book out their place to someone else)
So far I've been able to agree to all the requested extra hours because other people will be away on those days. But i have quite a complicated schedule now!
