Hi all
Was just wondering, what would constitute an 'incident'? and what would i put in an incident policy?
I have an incident book and just want to be clear on the types of things that would be classed as an incident.

I suppose an incident is anything that can't be seen physically. If they had a bump or bruise it would go in the accident book.
Incidents are things like:
Child was frightened by a big dog chasing them in the park - I'd put that in my incident book as it might lead to nightmares or fear of dogs and you want to be sure that the parent knows and that you have proof they were told
Child says they are being bullied at school
Child came out in a rash which later disappeared
that type of thing.

Sorry - missed the bit about what would you put in an incident policy!
I'd include that within the policy where you mention that you will need a signature for any medication or accidents occuring - just include incidents occuring.

You're getting my brain working - when I can find it!! Yes I think an incident book is enough without it's own policy - like I mentioned in the crossed post, you could include it with all the other things in one policy.

thanks pauline, have done that and included it in accident and emergency policy. Sorry for all the questions- its jus my mum had my little one today so was using it as an opportunity to get everything sorted! U have been a brillant help, thanks. lisa xx
