filling out application form. previous employer

Hi. i havent worked in 5 years and my previous employers have now left their jobs from when i was there.
Do i still need to write in my previous employers details on my application form?
I have 2 references from friends that have known me. Will that be enough?

I shouldn't imagine it will matter.... it's about an overall picture of you and they'll get that from Doc report, friends references etc

I didnt fill in the part about employer as i had not been employed for 8 years. I just put two names of friends down for references

i sent in 2 references from friends and they still contacted my previous employer for a reference
