Ive just found out today when my moving date will be and its only next Tuesday!! Rang Ofsted and they said I had to put it in writing, my new address, risk asessment etc. They will decide if they want to come and inspect .They also said I cant childmind until they send me a new certificate. What am I supposed to tell the parents of the mindees?? I think this is a bit unfair, they expect me to put my business on hold, disrupt the childrens routine, upset the parents etc, until they can come round or decide otherwise. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this, time it took etc xx

My situation was slightly different as I had a month to notify them and had the new house inspected the week before I moved so never had to cancell any parents and everything was inplace for moving.

In the past i found they were pretty quick at getting the new certificate out to you as they do appreciate that you are having to put your families on hold.
I would suggest getting everything off to Ofsted asap and just explain to the parents. Hopefully by the time you have unloaded boxes and made the place safe to work and have the kids your new certificate would have arrived.
Hope all goes well

Once again they are not being consistant. We moved in feb this year. I found out the date about a week in advance. I took one day off to move ( ) I informed ofsted as soon as i knew and they said fine just send a risk assestment in asap. I had my certificate within 2 weeks. We then turned the garage into the playroom and before i went on holiday sent photos of everything in along with a risk assesment and they rang to say all was ok! can't believe they are making you wait! just pester the hell out of them they will soon get fed up with you!
