I have been registered since end of Oct last year, they phoned me a month later but I was not minding then , I got a complaint made a againt me in April, looking at the date the complaint was made I was on holiday any way all was cleared up no action taken. I really wnat to get it out of the way as I think I am going to have to ask for a variation as my part timers is having a baby in Jan/Feb next year & I think she is wanting to go back to work.
Do you think I should call ofsted?

I don't really have any advice here as I'm still waiting for my first inspection but it does seem strange that you haven't been inspected. I can't see that it would hurt to give ofsted a call but I'm sure there will be someone better qualified to give advice along soon.

Sorry I got a bit confused was not sure if you meant call Ofsted about your inspection or call Ofsted about asking for a variation or both ?
Some minders do seem to wait ages for their inspection it would do no harm calling them I guess but I am not sure it will make them come out any quicker - they will not forget you believe me ha
Variation yes you need to apply to Ofsted if you read some of the posts there are a few hints and tips on how to go about it
I would call them you might be able to find out something

I would give them a call & tell them that you are minding if you want to get the inspection out of they way as it will prob still take a few weeks to go through the system.

Hiya I have been registered since feb 2005 and have NEVER had an inspection. I had the one to check my home is safe and thats it! I have rung Ofsted 8 times asking for one, I have a list of names and dates etc My DW is aware too and its ludicrous!  (you watch I'll get a call tomorrow now  ) |

Looks like I could be having my inspection soon as got a call today asking if I was minding at the moment, when I asked when would i likely to be getting my inspection was told it would be in the next few week aaaggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so wnat this to go well as I will be puting in for a variation after christmas as my part timers mums is wanting to back to work after 6 month maternity leave and would like me to have both her son and the baby, I have ehr son for about 15hours a week.
Will keep you updated.
