hi all. I moved home recently and have just informed Ofsted and I have to do a risk assessment on my new house. I have covered all the rooms that I want registered and done the checks e.g. socket covers, window locks, cupboard n drawer catches, cooker guard, fridge locks. my washing machine and dishwasher both have child locks. safety film, safety gates but I keep thinking that i am forgetting somethings can anyone please help on what other things i have to put in my risk assessment. i am not registering my garden as my neighbour has'nt secured their side of the fence.
thank you in advance

Try to look at it from a childs view and go round with a notebook - note everything that is a risk and what you're soltution is ie sofa beneath window - risk of climbing through window - solution - keep window locked. Tall bookshelf - risk of climbing - solution - teach children house rule of not climbing furniture and not leaving children who have not learned the rule unsupervised. Hazordous substances in locked or high cupboard etc.

thankyou rainbow, that is pretty much what i've done. I just keep feeling I haven't covered everything but no matter if Ofsted are't happy they will just bring my inspection forward which I don't mind to be honest, but I think I have covered everything so hopefully will just get new certificate sent in the post..
;Dthanks x michelle

Michelle what areas are you worried about? I might be able to help.... don't forget, it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect for Ofsted now (just good practice), that's when we start with the EYFS in Sept next year.... just needs to show you are thinking about the areas of risk and putting measures in place to safeguard children Sarahx

When I moved house Ofsted just sent my certificate for my new address through I didn't even have to send a risk assessment off. I think this may have been because I had just had my inspection at my previous address just before moving. Stay calm as I'm sure you've got anything in place that you need Carol xx
