Dont they have to tell you a choice of days so that you can be in?? surely you cant just be expected to wait?? Did they call to arrange a visit or just to ask how many children you have on roll as this is different?

I think they will give you another call to give a selection of days they 'might' come on. They don't usually arrive unannounced unless you have had a complaint against you.

Yes Janet Poor you!! Wish you had said earlier!! I thought you meant they had called to say they were coming. You get a call to find out how many children you have on roll and when you mind them etc... then once they info has been passed along then your ofsted inspector will call you directly to arrange a visit with you ( it was roughly a week and a half between calls for me ). They will more than likely give you 3 days which they may come on. So you should be expecting your phone call soon - I hope xxx

I had a phone call from ofsted about 2 months ago asking if i,m still childminding and how many children i mind.
At that time i only had my 2 grandchildren but i told them i had more starting after easter. They don't count looking after related children any more (they did 3 years ago)
Iam due for an inspection this year my 3 years are up i wonder if this means i will be getting a phone call soon.
I wrote to them today to confirm my conservatory is up and runnning as a playroom. Angela
