Hi Fiona
Welcome to the forum
How old are the children if you have any to mind yet?
If they are under 3 you could use the Birth to Three things that I put on here to keep an eye on development
I do have more answers for this but I will have to get back to you that is if the others do not first
If the children are older than 3 I do have some activity ideas for the Foundation stage and how to observe their development
Watch this space I will more than likely do something for the Foundation stage afterI have posted the Birth to Three activities that I am about to be doing soon
Angel x

Hi Fiona, welcome to the forum Hopefully some of the folks who have recently had their Ofsted inspections will let us know what type of things they do for record keeping and what Ofsted thought of them and if they had to add anything. Come on girls do let us know

Hi Fiona.
welcome to the forum!
I have a daily diary for each child which I fill in daily for them to take home. I write about what we did, where we went any acheivements the child may have had, lunch, dinner, nap times and anything else that springs to mind on the day. Ofsted liked this and also the fact that parents can write commments in the diary back to me should they have any comments/concerns etc...
I do use birth to three also, or at least I think im using birth to three. Im yet to go on any training for it as we dont have anyone in our area willing to do the training so im hoping that what im doing is correct, however, she didnt ask to see any of the birth to three documentation and just asked if i was aware of it.
Hope that is of some help. The main thing ofsted want is to see that you are keeping accurate records of the children and have all the correct permission slips etc...
let us know if you need any help with anything else and we'll all try our best and help where we can
x
