Well, I had my first OFSTED inspection today. The inspector was very nice and very human and awarded me 'outstanding' in all 4 areas. So now I am really chuffed! ;D Think I may have to put my fees up.........

Hi Hope you don't mind me asking but I was wondering if you could you tell us a bit about your inspection - what sort of questions did she ask? was she particularly interested in certain areas? what areas did you get outstanding in? etc. Sorry I am well known for being nosey ;D Dee

Well done on getting outstanding for your first inspection.
I don't think you are being nosey Dee I think it certainly helps everyone else to be more prepared. I love looking at recent inspection reports on OFSTEDs website as it gives a really good idea of what can make the difference between getting the different grades. I just wish this facility was available in Wales but it is not at the moment.

Hi Amanda It seems so strange to me that things are done so differently in Wales - I really can't understand why Dee

thank you to everyone for the congratulations!
when the report is available i will put a link to it on here and you can all be as nosey as you like! ;D
i got 'outstanding' in all five areas, i am not sure about how i managed it though! the inspector was interested in what resources i had, how i planned and organised what to do each day, what the children eat whilst in my care, how i promote good behaviour, etc. etc. she also went through all my paperwork, such as contracts, child records, permission slips and policies.
hope this helps..

That's excellent, well done! How did you grade yourself in your self-evaluation? If you don't mind me asking, just wondered how much they take that into consideration.
