Having read comments about inspections being overdue, how often should we be inspected? I registered in April 05 and had an inspection 6 months later. When should the next one be? I have a vague memory every 2 years being mentioned, but I noticed Dee said she hadn't been inspected for 4 years, does it vary around the country? It would be comforting to have a rough idea of timings!

I have been told that you are supposed to be inspected once every 3 years. Although sometimes it is not always the case but I think on the most part it seems to be within that sort of timescale

It differs slightly from area to area but legislation does state that the longest gap between inspections should be no longer than 3 years.
How often they inspect in that time depends upon what grade you were given last inspection - they tend to inspect new minders more frequently also minders with complaints or problems.
When these guidelines were first brought out Surrey stated it was aiming to be back within 2 - 2 1/2 years but I am fast approaching 4 years and still waiting!!

Yes the advice that you have been given is correct
3 years seems to be the norm but I have known some people to wait longer like Dee

Thank you all. That means I should have at least 12-18 months to get ready. If I start preparing now I might be OK!
