Dogs - how to treat and respect dogs

Hi

I found this earlier when searching on the internet.

It's to teach pre-schoolers about the responsibility of having a dog, about working dogs, how to respect and treat dogs, etc. It's something that I want to teach my son about with there being so many horrific stories about children and dogs in the news over the last few months.

I have put it on my favourites to use for a topic at some point and thought I'd share it incase anyone else was interested.

I have two dogs and the kids love them to bits, and the dogs are excellent with the children.
I do have it written into my policies about the dogs and the parents encouraging children to respect the dogs too.

I am going to work up a theme I think

I also have a dog so it will be handy to do this pack with the kids teaching them to play nicely and also show parents whilst showing them my pet policy!!!

although my dog is like a teddy bear and kids love her and vice versa lol

My son is very afraid of dogs which I find very sad. A great site for me to try and work through with him about dogs.
