One of my mindees Dad is a fireman and he has very kindly arranged for us to go to a firestation tomorrow.
His daughter's hours for tomorrow should be 9.15-1.15, although contracted hours 7.15-4.15 £27.00
He will be going with us (incase there is a shout and the firemen have to go!) so is giving up his morning. His daughter will be going with him and no doubt will be going straight home with him after.
I offered to have her for longer today as he is giving up his time tomorrow and I also offered for him to bring her early tomorrow to give him a bit of time at home but he declined both.
Should I still charge for tomorrow. (bearing in mind that if i don't I will lose £27 and that is much needed this time of year!)
I know what all your answers will probably be - that I shouldn't charge.

That's a tricky one, Caroline - I think I'd probably just charge half fees for tomorrow as dad has arranged this "treat" for you and is coming with you it wouldn't seem right to charge full fee BUT you did offer other hours so I think it would be right to charge something and half fee just seems fair.
Or is that me just sitting on the fence?

did he decline your offer of other hours so he doesnt have to pay for tommorow ..... or does he think he will be paying Its a hard one really but i would agree with miffy maybe charge him half fees as a gesture on your part for whta he has arranged but when you do you invoice point it out maybe by saying goodwill gesture of half fee for that day or something. xxx enjoy the fire station .... or should i say firemen !!!

I am probably the only one who will say this but i would charge the 27 pounds as normal as long as that is on the contract. Linxx
