hi, as u know im still in the process of starting up and i have had some luck with advertising and got a family, 2 children aged 2 and 3 wanting me for babysitting. How much should i charge?? i havent done it in years and wasnt sure what the going rate was...they will be a sleep when i arrive.
I use to charge £5 an hour but some people close to me have said thats very cheap but i dont want to put this family off.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved xx

I would charge whatever you are happy to charge just because the going rate may be higher doesnt necessarily mean you have to charge that if you see what i mean, if you are happy at £5 per hour then charge the family that xxxx
well done xxx

Hi
I have two regular families who book me for babysitting and I charge £5 p/h. I don't increase the rate at midnight either.
They are usually gone getting on for 4 hours so it's still £20 a night which I think is good.

I am a member of a babysitting agency for evening sitting. They charge a family £4 per booking and then the family pays the babysitter as well. Weekdays the rate is £5.55/hour and weekends the rate is £6.05/hour. This agency is countrywide.
Privately I charge £6.50/hour weekdays and £7/huor weekends and get it.
Hope this helps Wiggly x
