Does anyone work a sat or sun?
I was possibly thinking of working a sat as I know someone is after childcare but don't know what to charge.
My usual rate is £3.50 p/h & was thinking of £5 p/h at weekends, do you think this is too much?

Rule of thumb in my area is to add £2/£3 to your usual hourly rate for unsocial/weekend work. Tasha

I normally charge £3.50 per hour and £5.00 if its a Saturday (although I haven't had any kids on a Saturday yet). I think thats a reasonable rate though

I have just put my saturday prices up to £5.
Was charging £4, normal rate £3.50.
Have just stopped working a sat so thought i'd put the price up while I can and dont have anyone under contract.

I would definitely charge extra but I don't think my sanity would allow me to work Saturday too!

I had decided when I started childminding that I wouldnt do any weekend work. Its too precious to give up. its the only time i have with my own kids.
But if needs must then i would double my rate, afterall the parents would be on double time at work.

I never got paid double time for working a saturday i got my standard pay which was £5.35 which in theory they'd be working for 35p an hour

I charge £5 an hour if I work on a Saturday or Sunday and double normal hourly fee if I ever worked Bank holidays which I won't do.
