I have a mum coming to see me at 4pm with a view to me minding her little girl. The hours are
Tues and Weds She will be dropped off at 8am and I will take her to nursery. I will collect her from nursery at 11:30 and have her till 4:30.
Thurs She will be dropped of at 8am and I will take her to nursery. I do not pick her up on this day.
Do I charge from 8am to 4:30 on Tues and Weds? What do I charge on Thurs?
Please help?
Thanks Diane x

I would charge 8am to 4.30 on tues & weds and on thurs just charge the time you have her (or a set before school fee like some of you girls do). If she wants you to be on call whilst girl at nursery then charge til 11.30 otherwise state that once she is dropped off on a thurs you are not responsible for her. HTH xx

I only charge when they are at school, nursery, pre-school etc if I am on the collecting list.... otherwise I just charge an hourly rate for the times I actually work Someone here I know charges a minimum hours per week in case they get messed about - would that work better for you? Sarahx

Hi Diane
How are you ?
I would do as the others say and charge
8 till 4.30 Tuesday and Wednesday
8 till 9 on Thursday
I do charge a min of 10 hours minding a week but in this case would not - due to the fact you are having them all day Tuesday and Wednesday
Charge for your meals - breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday to bump up your prices a little if that helps

Hi diane
I am in the same situation with a girl I mind. I charge 8-4.30 on the days I collect her from nursery because I am responsible while she is there and then on the days I just have her 8-9.30 I just charge for those hours.
I have been just asked to pick up another little boy from nursery at 12 and then drop him off at pre-school (which is about 10 mins away) then pick him up at 3 and have him til his mum comes at 4.
So I charge 12-4 for him because I am responsible during that time and he is taking up a place.
Hope this helps xxHollyxx

Hi Thanks every one Well, she has been and signed contract. I took your advice and contract is from 8 till 4:30 on Tues and Weds and just 8 till 9 on Thurs. Seems like she will be hard work though but time will tell I guess. Still wondering if I have done the right thing as Tues was my day off and now I won't have one Oh well, thinking of the money at the moment and at least do still have some me time (Mon and Fri mornings).
