Hi ya
I've had a child for nearly 2 weeks (a friend of mine) and she wants to end the contract as she is taking all of this month off work as holidays to look after her son - i've put that i either need 4 weeks notice or pay in lieu in full. so what do i charge her full fee or half fee as a holiday but she needs to give me 4 weeks notice if she or the child is to take a holiday. and she wants to pay weekly
what do i do

does she want to end the contract or just take 4 weeks off as holidays ? If she is givin you notice to leave your setting and is taking them as holiday weeks it depends what fee charges you put in your contract ref holidays. if you ask for 4 weeks notice for either termination of contract or holiday dates and she has not done this I would charge her full fee's but thats just me hope this helps.... havent explained myself very well have i ...lol sorry xxx

Hi ya
She wants to end the contract without giving 4 weeks notice but she is taking time off work to to look after her son so is the argument that because she is taking time off work she is classing it as a "holiday"
basically i look collect her son from preschool at 12pm til 4 pm but the contracted hours are from 11am to 4pm @ 4.75 per hour and i said that i charge half for holidays with 4 weeks notice but she's only giving me 1/2 day's notice so do i charge her full fee

I didn't think that you counted holiday weeks as notice? If so, you can charge 4 weeks holiday and then 4 weeks notice? Ha ha! See how she likes that!
I've probably got that wrong but that's what sprung into my head first!

Not sure if this is supposed to be making me laugh, but it is!!! Even after being a member all this time I still often preview a reply before I post it, especially if I have been clicking the quote button. Even more so now I know Sarah and Lorri are checking our spelling and grammer!!! Amanda xx

Ha ha!
We're not checking spelling and grammar!
That was very funny!
I feel really bad now, I was just pointing out one of my annoying habits - it annoys me too! It's not like I don't make mistakes as well so I have a cheek to notice really!
