Hi, one of my parents is planning another baby and wants to know how much for the second child, its going to be another year at least till she has another so i cannot say how much. I was thinking of 10% reduction . what does anyone else think?

If they are both full time I take 50p of my hourly rate....But if they are not then full price applies to both...they are taking up 2 spaces after all! Tasha

they will be both full time, but our local nursery charge £38 per day and 10%off for 2nd child and for a full day i only charge £25 and i think we already offer a fantastic quality service for a lot less money, i just don't know. the parent says her friend does not pay very much at all for her second child so i think she is expecting to pay very little.

Hi Hazel
I used to offer a reduction for a sibling and increase the price to my normal rate when the older child started school but don't now because I found parents resented paying the extra.
You only have so many places for under fives and the baby would take up one of those. As you are already cheaper than the nursery I would say no.
It's a long time ahead so I wouldn't make any firm arrangements at this stage

Hi Hazel
Personally I think it is up to you
I am too soft and do offer a reduction I charge £3 an hour per child I charge £5 for two children of the same family
All my parents with two in the family have been coming for years they treat me lovely too - I am a soft touch I know
