Hi guys
I have my first mindee lined up for when I get my certificate, the hours will be :-
Monday and Thursday 9 - 4 then mum is having 2 weeks off when mindee starts school, then the hours will be 12 - 4
When the mindee is off school I will be needed to look after her from 9 - 4, so would you charge a retainer fr the time shes at school, I dont particularly like the idea, but wouldnt be able to take anyone else on in her space those mornings.......hope that makes sense

Hi Lou
In this case I would still be charging for the whole day as the although the child is at school she is abviously only part time and is therefore 'blocking' an under 5 space.
When she goes to full time school then she will be officially classed as over 5 therefore you would only charge for the hours that she is actually with you.
If you are not happy to charge full rate whilst she is at school you might consider charging half fees for that period of time.

I agree with Dee. I am in a similar position and will hav 1-4pm free during the time a mindee is at preschool. I will have to charge for that time as I cannot fill the space.
