Hi I've been reading this forum for a while and have found it very friendly and helpful and now I wonder if you could give me some advise. I'm having a problem with one of my Mothers about payment during the school holidays. She says that as she told me I wouldn't be having her after school child, I should not have charged her for the holidays. I feel that as it was her choice not mine for the child not to be with me I should still charge her. I do not have any problems with the rest of my mothers. What do you all feel about this?

Hi, It really does depend on what was in the contracts. Do you use NCMA ones? Tasha

As you say, it was HER choice not to send her child and she expects you to hold her place for the next term.
You could say that you will waive the charge a) if you get a long-term contract for another child who only requires holiday care (not much chance of that though) - in this case she will not be able to send her child in the holidays at all b) for any days you are fully booked and her place is not available to her (eg, if you provide cover for another cm who is on holiday/sick) c) for any days you are closed and her place is not available to her (sickness, booked holiday).
