Hi Do any of you have children term time only, and if you do, do you charge a retainer fee to keep their place open. Not sure what to do regarding this and how much money should I expect regarding retainer fees i.e percentage of their normal weekly invoice or a flat rate. Thanks, I know you'll have the answers. All my children's parents are teachers, so I don't have any of them during the holidays.
I charge 1/2 fee during the school holidays to keep their place open.
I saw two of my little ones yesterday. I haven't seen them for a month. I didn't realise how much I had missed them. Mum and Dad came round for a cup of tea with him and his sister. O ran to me and gave me a big cuddle and said she had missed me and J (15 months) put his arms up for a cuddle. I was really chuffed. When it was time to go home I had to put him in the car as he didn't want to let go.
I do try to see them during the long holidays at least twice so it is an easier settling in when they come back.

Jules that is lovely! They must really love being with you!
I think the half fee retainer over the holiday period is fairly standard. I don't have any term time only so no direct experience.

Hiya I have a couple and I charge them full weekly rate (the rate they pay normally for before and after school) as a retainer.
