just wondering how you all prefer to be paid? i was paid weekly in cash until i lost all the mindees. i would prefer to be paid direct into the bank but is it completeley safe? can they use your details for anything? about 8 years ago someone used my details to obtain cashback through one of those switch machines and cleared my account!! they didnt even have my card....i still had it....they obviously took note of the numbers and entered it manually! im afraid of something like that happening again.

I'm not sure about this one I will be getting paid via voucher scheme. Weekly or monthly depends on how you and the parents agree I suppose. I think I would prefer monthly in advance so that there was less invoices, receipts and paper work generally. Also, there's less times where you could get paid late. Mel x

Online payments are my preference - I've been paid by parents and for online auction sales in this way & have never had a problem.
The information you give out to enable a parent to make a payment - your bank account number and sort-code - you have already given this out to everybody you've ever written a cheque to.
Most problems I've read about seem to be when card used at a cashpoint, in a restaurant or when filling up with petrol and your card has been cloned/your pin obtained. Do you know how your details were obtained?

I agree with Susi - by giving them your bank account number and sort code is no difference thatn giving anyone a cheque so it should be safe.
I have been paid directly into my account for quite a few years now and never have had a problem.

im going to tell prospective parents that i prefer to use the bank. do you call it a bank transfer or a standing order?
the actual transaction was in the same pub that i worked in at the time. it could never be proven who had done it but it had to have been an employee who wrote down my details whilst my coat was hanging up in the back. i knew who it was but could never prove it.
im also going to tell the parents that its in advance. i only started minding in january and one of the mums has left without paying me for the last week. she was paying me on a friday in arrears. i did say monday to her but she said she doesnt get tax credits until thursday and i was new and nervous a obviously a pushover!

Hi
I prefer straight into my bank and I have had no problems. I have some that pay straight into the bank, some cash and some cheque.

i get paid both,
i ask the parents if the would like to pay cash weekly or by monthly standing order.
I have one parent paying into my bank monthly and the others pay me cash weekly in advance.
I quite like having the mix of both.
