I'm not sure if there is a thread about this, if there is sorry!
Could I ask how much you charge in relation to late payment fees?
Thanks

Hi I charge £5 per day per late payment. I'm not sure how this varies from others though.

my contracts say £5 per child per day. I haven't yet charged it yet except one month where Busy Bees messed up & agreed to pay it for the 2 parents whose payments they had for nearly 2 weeks before crediting my account.

Mine is also £5 per day but have never enforced it as I am luckily enough to say that my 'parents' have never really messed me around - yes they have forgotten to pay me on several occasions but I believe it was genuine so I never charged them.
I also state in my contracts that like them I have bills etc to pay and that direct debits leave my account on 1st/2nd of the month and should my money not be received and I incur bank charges due to a bounced direct debit then the parents would be liable to refund me these charges...... Again I have never had to do this as I usually find that the money usually reaches my account on time.

good point, i've also put in my contracts that parent will be billed "plus any additional expenses incurred by the childminder as a result of the late payment" ... and that if their payment bounces/fails to clear thereafter all payments must be made in cash.

Hi I had a problem with my full timer's parents paying late , did at first charge £5 for a late payemnt but have since put it up to £10 which has worked as now if the fees are due while their son is off they will still drop it of to me then.
