Hello and welcome to the forum
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble getting the work / children
Maybe if you could tell us what you have done we can add ideas to it for you For example where have you advertised ?
Do you have any children to mind at all or have you had no enquiry yet?
Let us know and we can all have a think and try to help you

Hi, It took me a while to fill my places, as the demand in my area was quite high, but I was lucky as I went to a mums/tots/childminders group and was able to meet other childminders who recomended me to my first mum, if you are able to meet other childminders the support you get from them is unbelievable as they understand the position you are in, being a new minder and any problem you might encounter you can bet somebody has already been there. can you advertise at your local school, or at any baby clinics near you, some clinics have a register for childminders, hope this helps mandy

Hi welcome to the forum.
I think that when you are first starting up it can be difficult to fill your spaces as you need to do what Mandy (nannan) has suggested in trying to get out and about and make yourself known to other minders - you will be surprised how many referals you can get from them once they know you

Hi
I'm probably not going to be much help as I'm not registered yet but I can tell you what I am thinking of doing myself it that's any use?
I plan to go on a full scale assault! Ha ha!
I will put posters up in the local shops and post offices, put posters up at toddler groups and at the local community centre. I am also going to get myself a t-shirt printed with my name on the front and 'childminder' on the back so when I go to Tumble Tots, toddler groups etc people can see clearly that I am a minder and can speak to me if they wish. If none of this works I am then going to make a flyer up and put it through the doors of the businesses on the local industrial estate.
Is that any help? They're the only ideas I have a the mo I'm afraid although I have also met a couple of childminders nearby that will also put business my way if possible.
Oh yes, just remembered! If you search on the net there are quite a few sites where you can put free adverts on various local areas (i.e. http://www.ukvillages.co.uk) and also of course there's Netmums, you can advertise on there too I think.

Seems like you did not need our help after all ha
