My husband says I have a problem with housework! So I thought I'd run a poll to see if I am alone in finding cleaning theraputic! He says I have OCD, his version being Obsessive Cleaning Disorder!!! Please tell me I'm normal? Lisa xx

Thank goodness for that! I was beginning to think that my husband may be right Susan!! For me it's a case of clean house - clear conscience! Hope that makes sense! I'm not saying my house is mega clean and tidy though, it isn't, cos there are never enough hours in a day are there? Need to have a clear out in the kids rooms actually, just incase santa thinks they've been really good this year! ;D

Think that makes two of us Lou!!! Wait til I show hubby this thread! I knew I was normal! Well as normal as I can be anyway. That gets my back up too, when people sit on beds that I've just made. Especially when its nice fresh clean bedding you've only just put on it. Mmmmm, now what else winds me up.........? I'm sure i'll think of something. xx

OMG dont start on things that wind me up, ill be here all night!! lol. think my biggest issue (and i have probably mentioned it on here before lol) it when my husband actually does something helpful, he has to bang on about it for the rest of the day, and he says thing like "i loaded the dishwasher for you!" WHY IS IT FOR ME? ? lol

That is exactly what my husband said to me earlier!!! "I've put all the pots in the dishwasher for you!" Oh, and I also got, "I've put the recycling bins out for you!" I agree, WHY is it for US? Can't they just help because they want to and see it as their role aswell? Us women work don't we? So, next time I hear him say "I've done ? for you" I'm going to say "Well let me do something for you" as I slap him accross the face!!! Well I wont really, cos I'm not a violent person, but I'm getting tempted!!! Oh I feel better now I've had a rant!!! Lisa xx

Oh! pleeeese don't get me started on the 'I've done that for you' conversations. These really used to bug me 'till I started giving him a running commentry on 'what i did for him' . ' I've vacuumed the carpet for you' ' i've cleaned the toilet for you' he got the message and doesn't do that now. They take a lot of training you know these blokes.I've had mine for 25yrs and he still has a thing or ten to learn!

I'm really lucky with Darren he does a big share of the housework and cooking. I have always found that men are a bit useless at just doing normal things like changing the bathroom hand towel, bedding or t-towel! It would never cross his mind for some reason! His dusting is a bit weird too, there's lots of furniture that he doesn't seem to think needs dusting. Oh, also when he cooks he makes LOADS of mess and doesn't put anything to soak whereas if I cook I wash up as I go along and leave the last things to soak so they're easy to clean. He's really good but also a bit weird! Saying that though he's happy to do all of the ironing so that can't be bad! Lorri x

He does ironing! you lucky thing! my fella can't even put the ironing board up. if he did, it'd be funny to watch - like one of those deckchair moments!!! lol.
However, my hubby is quite good at tidying up, aslong as its not his magazines! If he does them, he loses track and starts reading them again!!! So I try to do them when he's not here. I sometimes use them to get the fire going actually, but I didn't tell you that! lol
Just wish my 10 year old daughter would tidy her room! She used to be so tidy and helpful when she was younger, but just lately she's terrible! Needs reminding all the time.
My 4 year old son is very helpful - WHEN he wants to be!!!

my husband says the same things, Ive done the hoovering for you. You should be grateful. Ive learnt to just grin and bare it. And one of his favourite sayings it I do alot more than most husbands do. I walk away before I say something I shouldnt. Sarah

The one thing i fnid threaputic is the washing up. I am grateful of not having a dishwasher as I reallly enjoy making things shiny again after using them - Is this sad??
If im in a mood I get right into the housework... scrub the bathroom til you could eat your dinner off the tiles, very good for relieving stress. Dont like doing housework any other time though!

I love cleaning. But in a bad kind of way. I can't stand mess everywhere and my kids are always told to pick up after themselves. I can't sit down until the house work is done and I make sure every where is tidy and clean before I go to bed. The amount of times a day I wipe the sufaces down in the kitchen is alot!! Plus I hoover every room once a day and the lounge more than once. I hate washing up but love to clean the bathroom- which I try to do every day. Makes me feel more relaxed. I think I am strange, especially when I go round my Mum's and I do her house work as I can't stand to sit there and see a mess!! She thinks I am cheeky, but I think she really likes my visits = I'm her free cleaner after all!! ;D sandrax
