We're going away next weekend!!! YAY!!! My 2 are off to Centre Parks with their dad and his youngest is going to stay with a friend... so we can get away for Friday and Saturday nights You have no idea how excited I am! This is the best, most exciting thing to happen! We hardly ever get time to ourselves... we're usually apart for logistical reasons... we sometimes get a few hours on a Friday night if we can both get childcare.... 2 nights, one full day away.... WOW!!! I fancy York.. anyone any hotel / restaurant suggestions? Sarahx

We're going to York next year for an Army reunion
Let us know if you do decide to go there and where you stay.
I haven't been to York since I was at school but do remember it being beautiful with the cobbled streets
Can't wait till we go
I'm sure you'll have a great time where ever you go

Sorry Sarah can't help with any suggestions of where to eat or stay but
I quite fancy York myself - the christmas markets in a couple of weeks so
if you find anywhere good to stay/eat can you let me know?
Hope you have a wonderful time

Hi Sarah, Am i too late to make sugestions for York?? We go every year for or wedding anniversary...we got married in Dec 98,we stayed at the St Denys Hotel, they have a website,it is located minutes from the city centre. Last year we stayed at the Mount View Hotel, this was gorgeous but a bit more expensive and further from the shops etc(prob about 10 min walk). You will love York, there are some lovely shops and restaurants,,, If you need to know anything else, don't hesitate to contact me. Cath.xxx

Thank you all for your ideas (including PMs!)..... For some reason it's very hard to find a hotel with vacancies in York this time of year.... Finally got one... Clifton House Hotel, says it's a 10 minute walk, but been playing on Google maps and it looks like it's on a bus route! Well I could see buses going up and down the road! Can't wait now! Sarahx

bit late but we have just stayed at york for the 2nd year running at the premier travel inn just outside of york. its just a short car journey to the park and ride at tescos then just a 5 to 10 minute bus ride into the centre of york we love it, but yes theres a but the travel lodge often get hen and stag partys staying . they do not make too much noise but premier offer a good nights sleep or your money back, we complained last year and this getting a 1 night refund last year and 2 nights this year so a cheap few days away.
