Hi, I decided to start early and gave this ago with my son today. 480g flour 300g salt 2tbs cinnamon 2tbs nutmeg 2tbs cloves 350ml water whole all spice
Mix all the dry ingredients. Add the water untill clay like. Roll and shape. Use the all spice as eyes and buttons. My hubby got whole cloves as well so we used them as mouths as well. Bake on Gas mark 2 untill hard.
They smell great. We got 20 out of the recipe. I'm going to make these with the mindees aswell just needed ahead start as we give all the family a tree dec each year.

We have made stain glass windows from gingerbread mix . Choose a shape, star, circle etc, use smaller cutter to make a shape in the centre of the biscuit and pop a boiled sweet in there(fox's fruits work really well ) before you put it in the oven. The sweet melts, but as Biscuit cools the sweet hardens again. When you hold it up the light shines through the coloured sweet . You can be very elaborate with older children or keep the shape very simlpe for the younger ones
