our son has always made them in church, u have to be careful tho coz they always used a small tacking pin to hold the ribbon in place and the cocktail sticks r sharp but i dont need to tell u lot that wonder if there is another alternate to use instead of cocktail sticks, something less sharp

Maybe make the holes with a cocktail stick but then thread the sweets onto spaghetti? Once the holes are there the spahetti should go through fairly easily. I'll try it this week and let you know!

Use icing sugar. Sticks the ends of the ribbon beautifully. Needs to be the right consistency though! And it needs to be left to dry.
