I have just brought a book from the wwwkidscape.org.uk
"Feeling Happy Feeling Safe" a safety guide for young children.
Teaches children how to deal with unpleasant experiences in life; getting lost, being bullied, being asked for hugs and kisses by strangers or evan by people the children know, being ask to keep secrets. It has short stories suitable for under 6 year olds. It tells about different situations then gives you opporunity to discuss what to do and their feeling. I think it is a fantastic book.
I have also got some leaflets from them called "Keeping young children safe" which is all about the same as the book so i am giving a copy to parents so if the children want to talk about the stories parents have the infro.
They also do other leaflets Bullying etc.
The book cost £6.99 leaflets 30p each i brought 2 and copied them.
I thruoght they were worth sharing with you Angela

Here's the link www.kidscape.org.uk/I did download some leaflets from this site just the other day. Having said that they are all non graphic versions so are a little "boring" to look at so I did think I would order some. The book sounds really good too. Amanda xx

This is an excellent book.
I have had this book for a few years and have found it really useful so well worth the money!

Thanks for that I have just started a folder for teaching the children safety . I thought I could choose a different one each term .ie stranger danger , fire, road, etc etc . So I will download some leaflets for them to take home with them.
