Hi everyone,
I need to be smoke free before next year when I should hopefully be having my first mindees...BUT I CAN'T
I find it so hard, I have tried so may times and have failed so many times. But do you know what is strange - when I was pregnant with both of my kids I managed to give up - without even trying. I still wanted to have a smoke, even though I felt guilty for my unborn babes but something about my body seemed to tell my brain not to smoke anymore and guess what - i couldn't smoke - the taste, the smell everything made me feel ill and I was just put off. But I started again after the birth of my kids to Darren's dismay (a total never ever have smoked kind of person) I had bad Post natal depression after my first child but with my second , 5 years later, I was scared I would have it again, even though I didn't therefore started to smoke as I believed, and still do, that it keeps me saine. I smoke outside in the garden but I won't even be able to do that in front of the mindees! I am lucky I havent had depression other than postnatal, once, 8 years ago, but it has scarred me enough to think if i give up I may get ill again. i know it may sound strange but i can't help thinking it!! I have managed to cut down lately from approx 17 to 10 - so not too bad i suppose. Sandra XX

I've never smoked so I can't say how to give up
It must be so hard for smokers when minding as you can't smoke round them so how do you manage?
I do actually feel sorry for smokers who mind, especially when the parents of the children smoke
Good luck with giving up though

Hi,
I have stopped smoking for two weeks now and i have done it cold turkey, just because the way i see it is if you wean yourself onto patches you then have to get off them so i thought just go for it. of course i still crave a f*g though but i think it is getting easier and i feel better about myself.
I never smoked around mindees though.
Hope it goes well.
