I am desperately trying to persuade my husband to give up but he always says the more I nag the less likely he is to give up!!! Amanda xx my hubby doesnt smoke and doesnt like it so before i stopped, oh i can say that now ...lol, before i stopped never had a go about it cause he knew i'd just dig my heels in smoke more really, has to be when the person is ready try the gentle approach with the health issues especially if you have chidren ! my son said to me the other day 'mummy thank you for stopping smoking'....it broke my heart and has made me more determind to stay stopped xxx xxxx

Well done on your first full smoke free week Susan! You are doing brilliantly and I think keeping busy (like you were yesterday re-arranging everything) certainly helps to take your mind off it. Keep it up!

Hello Susan,
you must be nice and fat by now? hahahahahaha Sorry but you make me giggle. Almost 3 years ago I used to smoke 1 pack a day, I even smoked when I was pregnant, when I was living in Germany and worked ad the hospital I smoked even more up to to 2 packs a day. I really got stressed out whit all the anti smoking Adds on the TV. I never thought I could give up smoking, but then somebody give me Allan Carr's book Easy way stooping smoking, I started reading , put it to the side and thought what a crap, weeks later I started reading again and I stopped for good, it was not easy but it became easier after 3 weeks, easier after 3 months and now after all most 3years and 2 stone heavier I have to say I found it easier to stop smoking then losing the weight. STOP eating so much crap start cleaning, gardening, carry a pencil in the hand if you need something in your hands, try to be busy you must be realy hyper from all the sweets. But well done so far and if you jump off the wagon get straight back on. All the best
