Day One -
Got up this morning had a shower and washed my hair, got dressed, sorted the kids out, got everything ready for baby C arriving and then at this point i usually have a cigarette but DIDN'T.... gagging for one though but havent got any and i'm not going to buy any so i will not be having one.
Doesnt bother me when I minding but when C goes home I usually make a coffee and have one so come 4.30 I will have to have a chocolate bar, have just had a flapjack slice instead of chocolate as its a bit early !

well done Susan, you are doing sooooo well, 2 days is a long time so dont thin "oh only 2 days" that probably well over 48 hours now, I will join you soon, im being v good with just 1 or 2 a day, apparently the new f*g packets will have horrid pics on them soon with people dying on them from cancer. So you will be able to say you stopped before they went into print and actually havent seen one. Lat time i gave up i found in the evening having a bath early and staying upstairs once you are fresh and relaxed helped a lot, so did the occasional massage from hubby, made me so relaxed i couldnt be bothered to go and have a f*g. Actually if i could get hubby to agree to one massage a night for a month i would probably stop and use that as a substitute but its not v fair on him lol Mark each day off on your calenday, then after a week but yourself a good magazine and lush choc as a treat. Dont do what i did after a few months and start making excuses to go and see friends that you know smoke in the chance that you can blag one from them, was a v bad move for me.

DAY THREE - (yesterday) I did really well, no cigarettes, 6 chocolate bars ... I went to visit my friend who had a baby 3 weeks ago and thought if i caved in it would be there as it used to be as soon as i got there we would go into the garden for one then make a coffee then got back out for another one... wasn't good really. Well I DIDN'T have one, so proud of myself, i washed and changed and dressed the baby for her whilst she went outside to have one, she was really good to cause she only had 2 whilst i was there and didnt rub it in. Andy said to me last night do you feel like you want one and i dont really i think i just miss the habit of having one i think, i did enjoy smoking but i'm on day 4 now as forgot to post yesterday on my diary page, and i'm doing ok eating lots of chocolate though ! suppose thats better than a ciggy...! DAY FOUR 1 tub of hagen dazs, 2 bars of chocolate, no cigrettes ;D well Amy flooded the downstairs toilet ( see other thread ), drew all over the table with felt tip pen, then my dryer was making funny noises so i took it apart and found £8 inside it, put it all back otgether again, did 6 hours of ironing, washing and drying putting away clothes etc BUT still not had a f*g ;D

Well done Susan you're doing so well. My Mum was a smoker for 25 years & she gave up "cold turkey" just like you. She said it was the hardest thing she has ever done but we are all so proud of her. Now she can't stand the smell of smoke around her! Keep it up! Emler x (P.S. I am on a diet right now and all your talk of chocolate is making me VERY jealous ha! ha!)

DAY FIVE - Fags 0 Chocolate Bars 3 Today hasn't been a good day at all, had a text argument with one of my best friends this morning, well she had one with me, say's last 6/7 months i've not been there much that i dont listen to her anymore etc etc and to call her when i pull my head from up my ars*. I was really upset about this and then bit hubby's head off and we had a big row too.... Could have gone and bought a packet of fags easily today but i didnt..... Went to have a lay down this afternoon and when got up took my new car to garage to have the windows tinted to keep sun off the kids and hubby had made dinner and been shopping and bought me loads of chocolate instead of fags It's really not been a good day today but i know there are some of your having far worse days than me so i will stop moaning. The main thing is i still HAVE NOT had a f*g ;D Cold turkey isnt that bad up to now does anyone know where the temptation barrier will be..... Janet how is your stopping smoking going anyone else stopping or am i all on my lonesome !!!!! xxx

Well done Susan!! If you didn't have a f*g after the argument it sounds as though you are nearly there.
My friend's hubby said he felt like having a f*g for nearly a year after he gave up, but he never gave in, he now can't stand the smell.
Keep going. Jules

Susan, I probably sound really harsh, but it's your friend that has to remove her head! Your life does not revolve around her. I have friends & we all understand that there are times when one of us is riun of our feet etc....we don't hold it against each other - we all have seperate lives aside from our friendship. We understand this & just get on with it! I would tell her as much! If I were in a generous mood I would explain you are setting up a business, looking after your own family.....working long hours etc. If she can't be supportive of your circumstances without having a tantrum, then TOUGH! thanks Tasha xxx

OMG OMG OMG, you are doing sooooooo well to still not have one with all that crap going on, i have been there with friend like that and its a bloody pain in the arse, usually cos they are depressed and do nothing all day except sit and think about how everyone is letting them down, but like you said you have been v busy so dont worry about it. I am seriously thinking about joining you on this quitting thing, you are inspiring me a lot. I am just sooo scared of stopping, putting on weight, not being able to sleep, not having a vice, etc these thing sound stupid to everyone except smokers i expect. Susan you are doing FANTASTICALLY !!! Please keep writing on here EVERY day, DONT buy any death sticks, and if you cave in then make sure you burn the whole lot in the garden before you have one, maybe whilst they are burning in the packet, take a breath in of the smoke and see how disgusting it is. Book yourself a massage, and DONT go and see your smoking friends for a while, its like an alcoholic sitting at a bar just days after giving up drink. Wy make it harder for yourself. Can you tell im starting the hate the bloody things, they are soooo flippin addictive,, RRGGHHHHH !!!!!!! im sooooo MAD at stinking fags and mad at myself for not being able to stop! Susan, good on ya' gal, keep it up !

Can you taste things better (especially the chocolate?) and can you smell things better now? That's what they always reckon isn't it? Just wondered if it was true?

DAY SEVEN - Cigarettes 0 ;D Chocolate Bars 1 ;D 1 Full week of not smoking !!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Been very busy today, had baby C all day then had a phone call to say that my new corner sofa i'd ordered had arrived and the are bringing it thursday... aarrhhh need to get rid of other one first ...lol spent the next 3 hours emptyin livin room and cleaning the floor by hand in preparation for the new suite. Sorted all my minding toys out and ended up doing the kitchen as well...lol once i start theres no stopping me, i'm always changing stuff round hubby hates it ! Then I decided to move the computer to the upstairs bedroom and have gone one step further and turned it into my office/study now, so i am now upstairs not down. I have had no interest in overnight care so will leave it as it is unless i get a contract for overnight care then i will have to take pc out again, but for now it's lovely having all my things i need to hand for my minding. Luca goes back to school tomorow and we are going to cheeky chimps in the morning and meeting up with Kim( littleladybirds ), thats if i get my car back as still not back from garage yet, can't believe it's taken 2 days to tint the windows! Think they might have pranged it..... OMG hope not ...lol Well after a long busy busy day I still have not had a cigarette i think i'm doing really well ;D xxxx
