Hi
I have a question with regard to the childminding qualifications. I have a Btec national diploma in nursery nursing and a BA hons in Early childhood studies and Education. Would i still need do a course in order to be a registered childminder? I have also been registered with the busy bee voucher company for 6 months so have a crb, and first aid through them. Again would i need to re apply?

Hi Mia.
I'm not 100% about the first aid and crb?? sorry. Im pretty certain however that you would need to go on the 6 week introduction course for the diploma in home based childcare (dhc).
others will be able to advise you better,
xx

Hi Mia
I can only say that my daughter had a diploma and first aid with her work ( nursery ) She still had to do another first aid course ( but I am not sure if this is always the case to be honest ) for the childminding
With regards to the childminding like Lana says - my daughter also had to do the childminding course and be checked by Ofsted. She also had to have another crb even though she had already got one once again with her job Seemed a bit daft but as she did not have to pay for anything who was we to complain ?
May vary in different areas though
Angel xx

I'm pretty sure you will have to do the DHC as that is a condition of registration.
Is your first aid a 12 hour pediatric one? If so they might accept it.
Not sure on the CRB.

I was told at the childminding briefing session that if you have already had a crb you would still need to do another.
