Did you find out anymore about doing this on-line Louise?
I was looking today and the DHC course (First Unit) costs about £190 to do on-line, it seems a lot of money, I wondered how much people are paying for their courses at college or do you get them free?

Mine was free. The Welsh assembly provide funding for the ICP, a mentoring session for help on completing your application, business and marketing workshop, first aid course, basic food hygiene, a contribution towards DHC and the NCMA quality first package. Not bad eh!!!!

hiya all I am from wales like manjay so got icp free through welsh assembly. I was told that we are also entitled to some funding to finish the whole dhc course. I contacted my county council expecting them to fund maybe 2 units but they wrote back and said they will fund the whole lot!! I am doing it through the national extension college. Had all the course work through today and can't wait to get started although it looks like a lot of work So its always worth asking for money - you never know!! My mum used to say "if you don't ask, you don't get!"

Louise / Pauline I was wondering what site you are doing your ICP course from? as I am interested in doing it from home. If you don't mind telling me that would be great.

Forgive me, its very early and my brain is still zzzzzzzz are you a registered childminder already I get the funding as part of my registration, but I know everywere is different xxx

Hi Shirl I'm not doing one, I was just browsing around the internet after reading Louise's post asking about them. I can't remember what site I looked at now, but I just typed Diploma in Home based childcare into Google and several came up.
