I really could do with some advice on the below issue
Mum has come to me and wants me to have her 4 children. 2 girls who are 2 and a half and five and 2 boys who are 6 and 8.
They will be with me until 8pm and mums wants me to bath them. Well the older boys can bath them self but wants me to bath the 2 younger girls.
What would you do? Is this allowed?
Not sure what to do any advice would be appreciated.

I have a bit in my permissions which says - 'I may see your children naked in certain circumstances eg nappy explosions, at the swiimming baths, giving them a bath after messy play etc and I will be respectful of their privacy' If parents have a problem with it, then ok, but otherwise it's whatever you feel comfortable with... I'd just make sure permission is documented Sarahx

As Sarah says if you are happy with this situation just get it in writing to cover yourself and make sure you double check it all. Have a written policy on it as well would possibly show good practise

I agree with Sarah and Kate
Even though this is something mum has asked you to do - you must cover yourself by getting her written permission.
Kate's idea of a policy is a good one

Yes I too would get it written up as a permission and then enjoy the bathtime!

I have a bathing permission form which is filled in on accepting a place ,its mainly in case child gets "messy" in any situation then I'm covered.
Do you want to bathe these children on a regular basis though have you charged extra ??

I agree with the others i would get written permission to bath them but only if you are hapy with this. If it was me i would find bathing 4 children very time consuming i think i would maybe say i would bath the younger 2 as they would need to go to bed earlier but perhaps mum could bath the older 2 as they cam stay up later . There are divided views on bathing. Its been suggested that childminders should not be giving a minded child a bath except as part of a bedtime routine with a childminder registered for overnight care.
Childminders who are not registered for overnight care should NEVER give a bath I was told on one of my courses. This was met with an outcry - we all said we wouldn't hesitate to give a bath if the child was so messy from seeping nappy, messy or outdoor play that they couldn't be cleaned properly any other way.
8pm is a long day, I'm usually falling asleep at 6:30!

Well I never was one for following the " rules " so with parents permission and if I was asked then I would certainly do this
