Hi Jenni, first of all stop panicking lol, go to the bromley childminding website and take a look at their policies and then adapt the ones you need. They will also have observation sheets on there as well. And don't forget to look in the resource section of this forum, Angel etc have worked really hard and have posted a lot of stuff in there that will be of help

The NCMA website has example policies that you can print off along with other stuff. I found these and the Bromley website really useful- as well as this forum, its priceless!!! Jo x

Hi Jenni
Like everyone said do not panic
Some minders here have worked for years to get all their paper work together it is not going to happen over night
Do it in your own time a bit at a time
Like Theresa suggested the Bromley site is a great place to start for your policy's and procedures You will get all the ideas that you need from there to help start you off and you can adapt everything for your own setting
Observations etc - do you take pics of the children and do you keep any work they do ? If so you are on the right track
You need to stay calm and do a little at a time do not be overwhelmed with what you read on here
We all started somewhere
Good luck and give us a shout if you need any help or get stuck with anything
Angel xx

Also remember that when you are starting out you need to concentrate on the policies and paperwork that are needed under the standards and then add to these with what you need eg I need an overnight care policy but I don't need a pets policy
I would also make sure you save these to disk/memory stick. When I was first registered I had chance to work on these before I got busy but had them n the computer which crashed and I lost everything that I had set up paperwork wise.
love Kate
