Have bought some policies, just like to see what everyone else is up to ;D Anyway....seller says they are all her own work and took her hours BUT the properties of the policie etc cite: Debbie Hemsley David Howell Bev Becky ..there are another couple of bits that are copyrighted from other places on the internet. Could you let me know if you recognise yourself!!! Saira

Just wonder why you think this person is lying about it being her own work?

I've actually been a member for a while...but lurked as there aren't enough hours in the day to chat with all the people I'd like to! I've been contacted by someone else who'd bought them and I know that some of the original things that had been sold came directly from Pauline...HERE! Mainly because they had the website copyright all over them. The details of the things I've been sent all say that they've been created by other people..not the person I've bought them from....who goes on about her hard graft and is profitting. I don't have any worries at all about people selling their own blood sweat and tears if they want to but it's not on to be passing off someone else's work as your own for profit. If they were my policies up there I would like to know! So - to sum up ... I KNOW they are definitely not the work of the person they claim to be from (some may be but not most). If someone was making a profit from my own, copyrighted, work I would like to know. I'm happy to share anything but not for it to be sold.IYKWIM!? Hello by the way! Saira Welcome to the forum Sorry to be a little outspoken and I really do not mean to be funny in any way here But why are you asking if they belong to anyone here - you have only just joined the forum If I had bought policies I would be happy to get them not sure I would think they are someone elses work I saw your message on yahoo childminding earlier also Just wonder why you think this person is lying about it being her own work? That's JUST what I mean Pauline.... as half the stuff was yours I'm assuming that those people may be here too and may be blissfully unaware that THEIR policies are being sold. Saira I think Saira means that some of the policies are marked with those names, am I right Saira? (And welcome by the way

Yes, they were my work available FREE to anyone who wanted them for personal use, from my website but not for re-sale.
There are people on here with some of those names so it could be their work being sold too.
Hopefully they will be along soon.
Thanks Saira, shame you've been ripped off when you would have been welcome to have the stuff from me for nothing!
I've now removed the free download option from my website to protect my own and other people's stuff.

This is getting ridiculous! I think we should boycott ebay sales unless we know the people where the work originates from! Mel

I think eBay should clamp down.
It is selling stolen property at the end of the day!

I AM SO CROSS!! I put so much hard work into my stuff - and I know Susan and Bev and all those who are selling their own policies, procedures, books etc like me have worked very hard to write them and put them into a selling format I'm in the middle of writing a new book and getting the ideas together - by asking friends, other Childminders, the children etc - not by plagarising someone else's work.... and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth me carrying on if it's just going to get copied - or not bought cos nobody trusts me and then when I market it, some bright spark pops up and says 'why buy it when we'll give it you free?' Well I sell it cos it's good and original and different from what you can get for blooming free... that's why! Nobody has the right to copy anyone's words for profit. It makes everyone look bad - I wonder how much this has put people off buying from good honest sellers? OOOOOOOOOOOOO Sarah PS going to lie down now! Sorry!!

You are right Sarah, as usual it's the cheats that spoil everything for the honest folk.

Hiya Sarah ;D I'll be buying your book when I've got some pennies! What you'll need to do is to make sure it can't be copied....DS1 will probably have some ideas.... can you get a PDF writer that you can disable copying on. Also get a watermark put into it that says it's copyright to you....have you ever bought anything from homeschoolestore?? They seem to have a good system but I'm not sure how they do it. You've got a novel idea....so go for it!!! Saira

The problem is, if you know what you are doing, you can take the protection off PDF files and copy them anyhow. There are programs free on the internet that do this so if someone is hell bent on plagarising, it is actually quite simple.

It is terrible that people profit and steal other peoples hard work. Its makes me sick.
Hence the reason I do not put my DHC work on ebay (which is all my own work and I am so proud of the A's I have received for each assignment) BUT I am more than happy to share this work (for free) with (full) members of the forum and under the proviso that they use it as a "guide" and don't totally copy it word for word.
This forum has helped and guided me lots and its a shame it and its members have been abused in this manner.

Glad yours are genuine Jennifer, sadly it's the few who are lazy and greedy who spoil it for those who are genuinly selling their own work.
If you want genuine stuff check our for sale section as there you will find our members who are selling their own stuff with links to their own eBay sale page.

Yes, it was a Moonfruit site. I checked Moonfruits terms and conditions then emailed the site owner with a copy to Moonfruit. I said that they were in breach of the site rules and that my site was copyrighted it. The text was gone in minutes. It was when my site was very new (still is, we were one year old on Wednesday), I felt really threatened by the competition. In hindsight it was a compliment that they copied me really.
