hi everyone what a great website i stumbled across it when searching on google about becoming a childminder. i was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to get started?? i have a 2 year old son and have always loved and been good with kids. from a very early age i knew i wanted to work with children. i have been looking after children since i was 14 and have now thought it is the right time to look into becoming a childminder. i feel it would be a perfect opportunity for me as i would be able to watch my own child grow up and be there for him while i work. and the added bonus is he will have playmates to. any advice or information would be much appreciated thanks.

Hi Madmaz
A good place to begin might be to phone the NCMA office in Bar Hill and ask them about the introduction evenings that you HAVE to attend - there are two evenings I think and you have to go to both - well, that's what I had to do, over a year ago now though.
I'm sure if you ring them they will be able to help you and then a lot of things will become clear once you've been to the meetings.
I hope that's helpful?
Lorri x
