Someone wants to come and see me tomorrow and start Monday and I'm not ready!!!!
Will have to spend tonight making sure my portfolio is ok, printing my prospectus and I suppose my parent pack. Only just had my toolkit so think it is probably a good idea if I have a good look at the contracts!! Haha!
Do any of you use a mini check list when you speak to parents? I think I will as there are certain things I don't want to forget.
I know someone said that they give all policies in the parent pack with a space for a signature, they then photocopy and give the copy to the parents. This way I suppose there is no way for parents to say you have changed the policies since they signed. Is this what most of you do?
Sorry for all the questions but in my defence I haven't asked any for a while.
Good excuse to sit at the pc all night while hubby sorts the children

Hi Manjay,
Yes, I do the same. I have a pack with all the policies and forms in. Once they are signed I take a photocopy of it all, and give the parents the copy and I keep the originals. I now have a front sheet with a tick list - to make sure they've seen and signed everything - I also get them to sign this to say they have been given all of the documents.
Good luck!! Lisa x

I've got a footnote at the bottom of each page of my policies and it's got the date I created the policy and the version number.
As I update them both of these details will change so I will issue it to the parent and do a short letter to them, two copies one for me and one for them that they have to sign to say they've had it and read it, etc. IYSWIM??? That way they can't say they haven't had it when it's been updated - not that I've been doing it long enough to update anything yet so I'm presuming this will work!

Good luck! Don't panic you'll be fine....! If it's not ready just smile and talk about 'work in progress' LOL That's what I do....! I don't give full policies to take away either - after one woman started up as a childminder only a few weeks after taking all my stuff away... I give a precis and they can look at the full lot if they have the inclination at any time Sarahx

All my policies are ready and have been for about 6 months! So long in fact that I have forgotton what I have written. I just want to have the full parent pack printed off in case she says yes straight away.
I think I am there now. I just need to familiarise myself with the contracts and child record forms so I don't look completey clueless when she arrives!Lol!
I'm quite excited really. I had made the decision that I would n't start until after christmas so a bit shocked really.

If they just said I'm looking at becoming a childminder I would help no problems - it's when they are sneeky about it, it makes you feel a grudge again them (or is that just me lol)!!!
