Hi Emma, Ive just done my pre-reg in Bedford. It was over 2 * 3 hr sessions.
In session 1 we covered, The benefits of being a CM, Who needs to register and why, Legal Obligation, Numbers of children allowed, The voluntary childcare register, Costs, demands and challenges of being a CM, about running a business, Family & neighbours, details about compulsory training and the EYFS then we went through the National Standards and was given alot of leaflets and brouchers to take home and go through. In sesion 2 we went through the national standards in more detail and sample policies, we were given the OFSTED forms and Health form for doctor and went through how these should be completed and also how to complete the CRB form when it comes. Then went through the resgistration process and visit and ended with more paperwork to take home.....
All very interesting, might be worth taking a pen and paper to scribble down any notes......it was very relaxed and informal.

hi, my pre-reg meeting lasted for 3 hours, basically they'll go through the registration process and the standards. What will be required from you as a childminder. Its basicall a chance for them to explain everything for you and for you to ask any questions that you might have. I also got my application forms at my meeting but i know some people on the forum didnt get theres at their meetings.
hope it goes well
