We had a great time. He arrived at 10am and went straight off into the play room and wqas a little angel!! ~I didnt do anything structured with him today, I let him and my daughter get used to being around each other and monitered the way they played together (or not as was the case!) My daughter isnt very good at sharing unforunately so its something shes going to have to get used to now. He ate all his dinner and did a lovely dirty nappy for me, forgot about those as Liv (daughter) has been potty trained for ages now. Hes back on Weds and we are going to make paper plate spiders and pumpkin masks, is this ok for a 15 month old?
Thanks for the advice you have all given me so far Im sure I will need much more of it!!

Sounds like a lovely day Sam! Your daughter will get better - it just takes a while! I've got an established child here who doesn't like to share 'her' toys - it makes me laugh - I just repeat (til I'm blue in the face) - 'they're Sarah's toys and Sarah shares'.... You get there eventually! Hope Weds goes well - and the paper plate spiders sounds great! Just don't be disappointed if he spends longer experimenting with the glue than sticking! Ofsted are really into the process more than the product , so let him play with the glue, get it everywhere and all over his fingers and don't worry about the spider Have fun! Sarahx

Congrats on your first day minding. May it be the first of many happy days.
Don't worry about your Daughter - I have five kids and at different ages and stages they have all been through the 'I don't know why we have minded children' and or ' My toys, my house, my mum!!' They do get over it with patience and perseverance. I agree with Sarah's strategy - go for the broken record and keep repeating your line (I liked Sarah's wording - will use it myself when the opportunity arises).
As for your activities - wow - I wish I'd been so clued up and organised straight off - well done - major achievement in being organised enough to think about Wednesday two days before it happens in the first week of minding - Did that make sense. Well I'm impressed anyway.
Good luck with minding - emotionally, physically and financially!!

Well done! I felt a bit bewildered on my first day so it sounds as if you are doing well. Hope it continues and he settles really well!

Well done Sam - I am glad that you enjoyed it.
As the others have said all the children will settle down - just needs a little more time.
Hope all goes well on Wednesday
