Hi every one Ive got my 1st parent coming on Friday morning......really scared now. I thought I would be OK, but I'm so NOT!! I'm just worried that she might not be so keen as this will be the 1st child that I would be minding, although I do have a son of my own who's nearly 6, but hes not going to be hear ( going to the zoo for the day with Nan) I just want to make a good impression

Hi Nat,
Just wanted to say good luck for Friday! I've been minding since March this year, and I've only just stopped being nervous when new parents come to see me! You'll be fine, just remember that they are coming to you because they want you to look after their child(ren). Just be yourself, and chill.

IN a way it will be good that your ds's not there, you can really focus on this little one! Having an older child is often a good thing so I'm led to believe!
Good luck!! How old is the mindie? Maybe if old enough set out some drawing with crayons ect

The amount of times my youngest has tried to sabotage parent meetings ......! I'm halfway through an impressive chat all about something that happened or something I did and in he chimes .... no, mum it didn't happen like that!!!!! Best just you and the child / parents - focus on them and don't panic - have all your papers out and if it helps make a list to work through eg food, drinks, nap time, outings we'll be doing etc.... to use as a prop if you forget to say something and so you have an excuse to fiddle with a pen Good luck!! Good luck for Friday
Don't worry easier said than done I know but I really think you'll be fine.
As others have said get all your paperwork ready and have some prompt notes with questions to ask - things to mention.
Most of all relax

That is great news Nat
Everyone else gave you really good advice
I still get nervous sometimes and even more so when parents do not show an interest or ask many questions - yet they are the ones who are sometimes interested and sign straight away You never can tell
Good luck I am sure you will be ok
We will all be thinking of you so dont forget to come and let us know straight away how it goes
Oh do not forget to take her contact details - then if she does not get back to you at least you can give her a call
You will be fine
Angel xx
