Hi !!! I have started a thread last week about me waiting for my landlady's authorisation to mind children. She still didnt get back to me (she lives in Canada), it has been more than a week....I'm so so scared she's going to say no to me...if it's the case, I'll be devastated...does anyone has been in my situation ? Do landlorsd in general are ok with that kind of things I wish I didnt have to ask her...

yes been there done it lol, i had to wait 3 months for my landlords permission, at first he said no to me but i've now found out that they panic at the thought of a business running from their property but after my hubby spoke to him that its infact us that has to take out extra insurance and that i had 3 of my own children anyway so whilst there at school i wouldent really have any extra children, he explained that we have always looked after the property and paid rent on time we have never hasseled him for repairs so he had a word with his solicitor and then changed his mind and said he was ok with it as long as i show him copies to prove i had the insurance i needed it still took another 4 weeks to get the letter as the agency was short staffed it was a tense few months, even if shes says no just talk to her to make sure she has all the facts, my landlord had visions of me running a day nursery from the house.

Well still no answer from the landlady...I dont feel it...if she says no, it's going to be difficult to negociate with someone who clearly doesnt want to communicate...I'm so gutted

Sorry you've still not heard from your landlady.
Why not wait a few more days and then contact her again - can you phone her?
Hope you hear soon - fingers crossed

Well after 4 weeks of waiting, I have got the answer and it's no . The landlady has got a lease with the council which doesnt allow her to use the premises as a business place..so I'm going to try to make an appeal with the council but I'm losing a bit hope.

I'm sorry to hear that but don't give up yet, you may have good news from your appeal.
Good luck.

If it's the council that will be deciding, I can't see a problem there really - just wondering why the council are involved at all really since it's a private rental? Puzzling......

Hi loom ! It's because our landlady bought the house from the council and she has a lease with them...so we have to write to housing management in order to get an authorisation from them..our landlady is ok with the principle so now it's up to the housing to give the go ahead !
