:ooh!!! That sounds really scarey!! Do they not give much notice that they are coming - like a letter throught the post telling you the date and everything or do they just phone and say they are on their way?? I am not looking forward to mine when the time comes!!
Hope it went ok for you.

It's over and yes she stayed 3 hours!!! I did know she was going to ring today to make an appointment (because I had made such a fuss!!!) but i didn't realise the appointment would be today.
It went fab. She was really lovely which is nice as we keep the same inspector. She was so helpful. She left me with a few small things to do which I just have to comfirm in writing before my application goes before a panel at the beginning of November. I had only included one weeks menu with my paperwork and she wants to see three, I have to write a food risk assessment to comply with HACCP food system management, I forgot to include my settling in ploicy with my paperwork and I had put in my prospectus that I will be registered for six under 8's when infact it will be 5 (because of my son)
So nothing major. She now orders my NCMA insurance and pack tomorrow and my NCMA development officer will contact me with the paperwork for my start up grant (£350)
Bonus was she registered my husband at the same time!!!

Hello , glad it all went well for you . Just reading about all your paper work and it sounds like you have to do a lot more than we do for our registration . Hopefully it won't be long and you'll be up and running soon

I thought she was here so long because she was doing two of us at the same time IYSWIM!! We had kind of decided that my husband wouldn't go ahead with the registration as he has so much work on that he will never be available to help me but he has done his ICP and she said she didn't want him to write his own paperwork so we had nothing to lose.
I just hadn't really had time to prime him before she came and because I have written all the policies and procedures, bless him he doesn't have a clue what I have written. We obviously did ok as she was happy to register us both.
I now just need to find some children. I have had enquiries but because the whole thing was taking so long I had to put everyone off. Never mind, at least I now know that the last 12 months have been worthwhile.
Thanks all for you good wishes
Amanda xx

Well ladies, i have just finished my revamped Part 2 of my application form (the inspector left it with me to make the amendments she required) It has taken me hours!! Because she was happy for us both to be registered using my paperwork I have had to go through everything (and I mean everything) to change all the I's to we's!! I have just counted up the muber of pages I am submitting and it is nearly 130 - what with the prospectus, policies, procedures, risk assessments, leaflet, permission forms and info on how I will meet each of the 21 standards!! Is this a little bit mad to expect this before you even start minding?
I am sooo glad they thought I was suitable after all this bloomin work. I would have been gutted if they had said no. I think I may have been slightly angry!!
Anyway, it's done now
Amanda xx

and you've got hubby registered as well - smart move that!
Hope it sails through for you!
