Well it is my Ofsted pre-reg inspection tomorrow (in 23 hours to be exact - not that I'm counting/panicing ) My Development Worker came on friday to check I was ready and to put me through my paces a bit. She picked up on a few things (Big thanks to Angeldelight who helped clarify B23 ) one being me not having a Cleaning Schedule in place. Can someone give me some idea as to what and how often things should be done. As a mum I bung soft toys in the wash when they are grubby and bung all the plastic toys in the bath for a scrub-down when the mood takes me - I guess this isn't what the inspector wants to hear! Thanks Mandy xx

Make a list of all the jobs that you do around the house on a regular basis and make a chart / tick list. Make weekly, monthly and daily cleaning sections to it so that you can tick off what has been done eg hoovering each day after mindees have gone, sterilising plastic baby toys once a month, disinfectant in toilet at end of each day

I'll have a go at that list tonight

Good luck with your pre reg inspection.
I've never been asked to produce a cleaning schdule. But I think I need one! A tick sheet for daily, weekly and monthly jobs sounds good. I think you'd include things like daily floor cleaning, daily toilet cleaning, tidying/checking toys and cleaning them (I check toys are safe as I tidy and clean them monthly), cleaning fridge (?) as well as normal cleaning tasks.

Glad to have helped with the B23
Cleaning Schedule - well keep it simple and use your common sense really
I do not use it but I am sure I have a tick sheet somewhere
Like I said though common sense
Jenn you hit the nail on the head really your pre - reg is all about being prepared You say you did not have toys or the saftey equipment - good point because that is what they are there for TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU DO NEED - the whole point of a pre - reg meeting of course
Do not panic and personally If I were you I would forget about the cleaning Schedule for the time being and concentrate on things that you should be doing tomorrow
Remember though if you do not have equipment at the moment that you show you are aware of what you need and WHY
Good luck let us know how it goes

See this is why this forum has been such a godsend for me. Here we don't get a pre-reg visit to tell you what you need to do. You are just expected to have it all done the first and only time they come to visit!!!
You guys are so helpful. Thanks very much.

Evening all, yes all seemed to go well this afternoon. She was here about an hour and three quarters. She seemed to systematicaly go through each of the Every Child Matters catagory's. She liked the fact that I already had policies, permissions etc drafted and risk assesments done. I didn't have any actions and now have to wait on CRB checks and references. This site has been invaluable in the lead-up to this inspection - a BIG thanks to everyone

i've just read through this as I am just doing my cleaning schedule. What things do you do daily? What things do you do monthly? I've got a few things but my mind has just gone blank now (typical eh?)
