Is it your planning or your cleaning you do in your sleep Pauline?
I don't "work" as many hours minding as you all yet but it is always on my mind. 24/7.
As I walk around my house I am risk assessing, as I walk around shops I am always looking for bargains the children will like, I spend hours a day sat at the computer either "talking" childminding or hunting out resources or activities. HELP it has taken over my life!!!!

BUT...... do you know what? At the moment I wouldn't have it any other way. After being employed for 20 years in quite rigid, strict environments I am having a ball. My kids love having me around (I think) and are really enjoying being my guinea pigs.
I am relishing all the training that is on offer and love learning new things that have a real impact on mine and the childrens lives.
Who knows, I may not feel like this forever but it suits me now!!!

i do 12 hour days 4 days a week. i have tuesdays off between 9 and 3.3o, but have a before and after school child on tuesdays so thats another 4 hours, so yeah 54 hours a week, before i even think about cleaning, paperwork etc.
What i love, is when my husband gets in form his 8 hour day with a lunch hour and says "oh make me a cuppa love, ive been at work all day!" Bless him.
At the moment wouldnt have it any other way though, got some great children (not always so keen on parents lol) and it fits in so well. Really enjoying it.
If i won the lottery though.......................................lol

I also work a 50 hour week plus all the extra planning, organising and resourcing - to be honest the job is never far from my mind !
whenever we do a diy job around the house it is usually because or has to fit in with my job, the garden has been tidird up for my job, whenever i go into a shop i am always thinking of what i can buy for my job - so as i say job has become a huge part of my life although i wouldnt have it any other way !

Is it your planning or your cleaning you do in your sleep Pauline? I'm actually helping other minders!! Last night I dreamt that a childminder friend came round and I was showing her all my kiddy cups, plates and cutlery and showing her how they were stored and telling her where I got them from!! Sad or what!

iWhat i love, is when my husband gets in form his 8 hour day with a lunch hour and says "oh make me a cuppa love, ive been at work all day!" Bless him. my dearest takes his dry cleaning in on a saturday but expects me to pick it up for him mid week. at the moment i am caring for 3 under 2s and working a 50 hour week too so running to the dry cleaners for me involves the triple buggy and/or driving the 500 yards to town parking getting 3 little ones out stressing that the nearly 2 year old will run into the road while i strap the babies ito the double buggy then walk to the cleaners struggle with the heavy door then be shouting through town as nearly 2 has run the wrong way to the car etc etc alternatively he can just pick the things up on saturday morning

If I'm not working then I'm thinking about work or shopping for work or cutting out for work or researching for work etc etc etc.
In Decathlon at the weekend with my son I saw some paper flags of the countries in the rugby world cup they were using as banners - "Ooooh" I said "I could use those". He looked at me and said "Mum you need to get a life!"
Sound familiar?
