Its just gone 3 in the morning and i cant sleep because i have too many questions! (again)
May be a silly question but how many times do ofsted visit before thay register you?
You send off you forms and then they contact you to arrange a preregistration visit? Is this correct?
During this visit they tell you bits you need to do to your house etc? Then do they visit again to see if you have done them before they will register you?
When do you fill out forms for crb check?
aaaggghhhhhhhh help!!

I know what it's like when questions are buzzing around your head in the middle of the night - did you manage to get back to sleep once you'd got it posted?
Yes you are right, they come out and do a general inspection, pointing out the areas where you need to do any work. These are usually called 'actions'
The second visit varies from area to area, not all do the second visit - hopefully someone from your area will be able to tell you if they do.
CRB Check forms are usually done on the first visit. You will need id too - birth certificate, marriage certificate, any previous marriage details etc. - worth getting them out before hand saves having to rush off and find them.
If you don't have the second visit they accept that you have done the work/'actions' if you say you have. You would be in breach of your registration if you said you had done the work when you hadn't and your insurance would be invalid.
They will then come and do a full Ofsted inspection at around 6 months but if you are not working they often put it off.
It's a shame that all areas don't do it exactly the same, it would be much easier when offering advice!
