Hi every one I was wondering if any one could give me some words of wisdom? I have done all my polices, portfolio, etc etc, I have done all my courses including first aid, and I'm now looking after a little boy in the mornings then taking him to school. My problem is I have all this in place and feel quite confident BUT I'm having problems understanding this b23, I know from reading other posts that I have got to do this for now as my inspection is due Jan/ Feb, I'm really not sure what I should be doing and how to do it??? What sort of format they should be set out in etc etc. I hope I'm not sounding too thick, but I did ask the lady that took our DHC course but she changed the subject....Im lost. Thanks for reading, any help will be greatly appreciated Nathalie xx

Have a good look through the threads on this section for some tips about B23 or try the sure start website www.surestart.gov.ukwhich has a section on B23. Do you have the B23 pack as this has all the info you need Miffy

I personally think Ofsted should pull there finger out, it's not fair to expect newly registered childminders to have a working knowledge of both b23's and EYFS. If the documents are no longer being produced (b23'S) then how can you be expected to understand it. I recently attended a ICP course (as a support childminder) and the ladies were being told to try and borrow a copy from your child's nursery, school etc. I suggested as Miffy did they check out the Sure Start website.
Anyway thought I would just have a moan!!!
