I've been trying to get on a Birth To Three Matters course for some time now but each time I'm told the course if full and I'll have to reapply.
My question is this: is it going to cause problems with my Ofsted inspection if I haven't done it? I seem to remember something about needing to complete it within a year of being registered as part of the conditions of my start-up grant.
It's causing me a bit of anxiety because obviously I want to be able to implement it but at the moment it's impossible if I can't get on the course. I don't want to fall foul of the inspector.

Just keep any letters that prove you ave tried to get on the courses. I doubt whether anymore will be held now as they are starting the training in most areas for EYFS. I would go on these and show your inspector you have been on these and tell her that you will still be learning info along the same lines as you would on a B23 course (only word it better than I just did)

I've emailed Early Years and discovered the next Birth To Three Matters course is scheduled for Friday March 14th 2008. A Saturday would've been better but I've asked to be booked onto it so I don't miss the boat again. I can't do much more than that and at least I can't be accused of not trying lol.
My registration came thru' in Oct so does that mean my next inspection will be in April 2008? In that case I'd just scrape thru' with the March course.
Oh, and how brain-taxing is the course ;D? Would I be able to implement all I need to in a month if my inspection is in April?
P.S. thanks Angel for your PM

Hi Bubbly,
Thanks for the reminder.... I tried to get on this course months ago, but couldn't find one - and have since forgotten!
I've just been on early years and emailed asking if any available in my area.

To be perfectly honest if it is anything like the ones around here you willl learn far more on here then you will in the training. it depends on how good the trainings are in your area
