Hi ya -
I have a 3.5 year old who has just started pre-school but then mum has put him with me from 12pm to 4 pm so do i need to start using the foundation stage with him or let him play/colour/watch tv/do crafts rather than structured activities until i get more children.
thanks

Hi nadmaj You need to plan for the individual child - find out from mum, pre-school and observing the child what he likes doing and what his interests are..... then plan to extend these interests and take him in new directions Keep some notes to look back on so you constantly observe, plan, evaluate and observe in a regular cycle It's not about a paper mountain, but we do have to make notes with the EYFS when it starts in Sept 2008, so it's as well to start thinking about these things now - as he's 3.5, so long as he's developing within 'normal' learning and developmental levels, he can start on foundation stage anyway, which is very similar to the eyfs Hope this helps!
